International event, Croatian team
DAY THREE
The day started at 9 with a interesting lecture about volontourism at Olimpic Games in London conduced by a Dutch professor Steffan. The lecture was interesting because the topic was about upcoming OG that are starting on 27th of July. The second lecture was about couchsurfing and we all agreed that it was the most interesting lecture of the day because the topic was relatively new to us and it surely made us think about trying it.Couchsurfing dates back to 1999 when an American student from Boston asked a huge number of Icelandic students asking them to ovesleep at their place in order to reduce the expenses of his journey to Iceland. The lecturer presented his topic in a very original way because he combined very well his own experiences with the statistical information.
The third lecture was held by a Romanian professors and the topic was about the similarities and differences between sustainability and responsible tourism. The conclusion of this lecture was the responsible tourism is a part of the sustainable tourism.
After the great lunch we had an international event where each nation presented their country in best possible way where we presented our authentic food, different quizes where we had an opportunity to learn a lot about countries, learned traditional Romanian and Portuguesse dances. All teams were very good and we continued our international meeting in a beautiful beach environment till the late night hours...
One photo of our beautiful Summer School experience from Portorose...
Best regards from Croatian team: Ana, Filip, Livio and Matija. :)
