Friday - First day of excursions

Dear Readers,

Today we made our first excursion in beautiful Slovenia. In the morning we went a few minutes outside Portoroz by bus and walked up a hill. As it was already very warm for us who are really not used to that type of weather we were glad when we arrived at the open air museum with many different sculptures and a special view over Portoroz! After getting some general information about the place we took a nice group picture, which hopefully also will be posted on the blog. Next, we walked to Fonda Fishfarm, where we made an interesting boat trip. Mrs Fonda explained how her father's company is working and what they are exactly doing with the fish. The information we got, was really detailled and interesting, so again a big thank you for that!
When arriving by boat at the fishfarm in the sea we received additional information about the fish and could see how there are fed. We learned how we can recognize if the fish is fresh, which was very useful as well. Further, we were offered a nice glas of wine and some fish, which we enjoyed very much!

After the tour we went back to Portoroz where we enjoyed the beautiful sunny weather at the beach. Still it has to be said that Dutch/German people still need to get used to it, but that the outstanding icecream of cacao is helping a lot with surviving such a day :-)
Now we are looking forward to a nice evening with dinner and some drinks and we hope that nightflife at weekends is more interesting than it has been during the last days!
Tomorrow we finally will get to know Piran, so that is going to be very nice!!
