Get to know with Slovenia :)

The first official day started in the early morning with a great introduction from Slovenian side. We got to know each other (students & teachers from participating countries) during "warm up" game which was a fabulous chance to have a lot of fan together and found out new things about our new friends.

After warmly welcome, one of Slovenian coordianator – Mitja - had lectures how to co-operate and create posts in social media and be creative as much as it’s possible while writing texts.

The next point of the day was a lunch break which took place in Turistica. We gained a lot of energy to survive the rest of beautiful and sunny afternoon in Portorose J

In the meantime, we decided with Romanian team + Ana from Croatia that it's good idea to burn off some calories so…

We went to the beach in the front of the University ! The water wasn’t warm so in that case our decision was more sunbathe than swim…

Having fun, sunbathing, talking and resting together made our afternoon very exciting to have enough power for the evening.

All day long, we couldn’t wait for a night event called “ I scream, you scream, we scream” in Cacao. Finally, we had a possibility to try the best ice-cream ever which is documented by our friend.

So...now you can admire how nice and delicious was a few minutes ago...

Because of the post, we decided to come back earlier to complete our mission for today. Hopefully, you have a big fun together and the motto of the night event is in progress... :D The next time dancefloor is ours!!!

See all of you in the morning,
Polish team - Karolina, Aleksandra, Sabina & Marta

DAY ONE!

DAY ONE

The Croatian counts has 4 student: Ana Palaversa from the University of Applies Sciences VERN' Zagreb and Filip Oštrić, Matija Vrbić and Livio Defranza from Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management Opatija.
We met each other in Poreč and we took the bus for Portorož.
First impression was very good, we got a warm welcome from Slovenian side. Mitja helped us to find the dorm and the other host students showed us the city centre later on.
Unfortunately we came too late and with a cloudy and windy weather so we didn't have an opportunity to spend time on the beach.
After we settled down in the hostel, we used our time to take a dinner in a fine fish restaurant "Riblja kantina" and later on we played billiard with Kaja, fellow Slovenian student and a co-host, who taught us the basics of Slovenian grammar. All in all we had a very interesting first night...

DAY TWO

After we woke-up and came to the reception where we met the students from other countries.
Together we preceeded to the faculty where the dean of university and SWT organizators warmly welcomed us and presented weekly schedule. After that we had gala lunch.
Everything was well-organized. In the afternoon we had free time and we spent on the beach with other students in beautiful environment where we had an opportunity to meet each other better.

Now we are preparing for I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM PARTY and the after party in the city.

Best reagards of Croatian team.

C ya!

Hatsi in Slovenia

Hello volunturists,

My name is Hatsi and I am a travelling hat born in Sibiu, Romania.

I was accepted at the amazing SWT Summer School and that's why I made a 13-hour trip to Portoroz, Slovenia with my team: Dumitru, Lia, Anca, Andreea and Alex.

I started the day with lots of energy, due to the beautiful view from the balcony
and my day kept getting better and better after meeting you guys because now I am sure I'll have a wonderful time here!
After enjoying a rich meal I felt the need to take a sunbath and swim in the turquoise Adriatic Sea, where Lia, Andreea and Alex helped me float :).
The Polish girls where next to me, prepared to jump in and save me at any time.
Now I am resting a bit because I want to be able to scream for ice-cream loudly tonight at the party!
See you soon!
Cu drag,
Hatsi

The beginning of SWT 2012 in Portorož

Dear voluntourists!

The summer school has finally begun and Slovene students and organizers were pleased to have met all of you and we are looking forward to spend the following ten days having fun with you.

The first day of summer school was a success. At first we have listened to our dean dr. Anton Gosar and professor dr. Tadeja Jere Lazanski. After that there was a presentation from Miha and Mitja in which they explained the following activities for ten days and afterwards we did a little game of getting to know activity.

After the presentations we had special lunch inside the Faculty in classroom and it was great because we could chose whatever we desired.

And in the evening we have a party planned with the theme I scream, you scream, we scream in Cacao. It was awesome. We had so much fun.
It was legen-  wait for it…………………………………………………………………….DARY.:)

Slovenia here we are!

Dear readers,

Finally after seventeen hours of traveling yesterday we arrived at beautiful Portoroz.

Although we were very tired we could still meet some students of the summer school group at the bar and get a first impression of the nightlife here. After that long day of traveling you can imagine that we could really use a drink, so we enjoyed it a lot!

Today we had our first meeting with all the students and teachers at the university. Definitely outstanding was the amazing view from the classroom and of course the really positive vibe from the whole group. We started the day with a ´getting to know eachother game´ and found out that noone is able to speak Icelandic, Tiago is the only one who is left-handed, Trudy is the only twin and everyone is really openminded and likes to socialize. On our concern those are great ingredients for amazing two weeks! One of our main tasks during our time here is to write a blog and we are already thinking about how to develop a creative video for you all.

Now we´re going to have lunch and experience the sunny weather at the beach.

We´re looking forward to get to know everyone better during the day AND the night ;-)
Team Netherlands hopes you like our first attempt of writing a blog and that you will enjoy following our further adventures.

Welcome all of you to our summer university in Portoroz!

We had a nice welcome from Miha and Mitja and all members of SWT 2012.
Furthermore playing the introduction game was quite a nice way to have a first chat with you.
Our task was to find another person which e.g. is an only child, has a tatoo, can speak more than 4 languages, is taller than you, plays a musical instrument, ...

This allows us to get first impressions of each others and all different nationalities. This is the 3rd summer university in portoroz, last year there were 5 nationalities and this year there are 7 nationalities participating: Portugal, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Rumania, Slovenia and Croatia. In total we are 24 students.

Besides Miha giving us a short overview of our programm, he also explained us what we are expecting to do during the next 2 weeks which includes various lecutres, workshops, panels and case studies. On Friday we are going to visit the Fonda Fish Farm, where we also have the possibility to eat delicious fish. The team of SWT 2012 also prepared some other excursions where we are going to visit Piran and Maribor. Every day we also have to write a blog about our experiences during the day.

Now we look forward to having a delicious lunch at the Turistica! ;))
